Robert J. Sawyer es un reconocido autor de ciencia ficción, famoso por su habilidad de entrelazar la ciencia con elementos de misterio y religión. Robert J. Sawyer nació el 29 de abril de 1960 en Ottawa, Ontario, Canadá, y se crio en Toronto por padres profesores universitarios. Desde temprana edad, Sawyer estaba fascinado por el espacio exterior, una fascinación que fue despertada por las misiones Apollo y los programas de ciencia ficción Search y Star Trek.
