Leslie Charteris, nacido como Leslie Charles Bowyer-Yin el 12 de mayo de 1907 en Singapur, fue un reconocido autor británico de novelas de thriller y aventuras de crimen. De ascendencia única, tuvo un padre chino y una madre británica. Charteris fue criado en Singapur antes de mudarse a Inglaterra en 1919, donde asistió a la Rossall School en Lancashire.
Charteris es mejor conocido por la creación de la serie The Saint, que presenta al personaje Simon Templar.
