Kamila Shamsie es una reconocida autora, conocida por su trabajo en misterio, ficción literaria, horror y ficción general. Ha escrito al menos ocho novelas independientes, y también ha publicado varios relatos cortos, novelas y libros ilustrados. Su escritura ha sido bien recibida y ha ganado varios premios por su trabajo.
Shamsie nació en Karachi en 1973 y estudió Creative Writing en Hamilton College en Clinton, NY. Luego completó su MFA en la Universidad de Massachusetts, Amherst. Fue mientras estudiaba en la Universidad de Massachusetts que escribió su primera novela, "In the City by the Sea", publicada en 1998 por Granta Books UK.
