Jonathan London es un autor estadounidense consagrado, principalmente conocido por sus libros de ficción para niños. Tiene un gran aprecio por el mundo natural, el cual se refleja a menudo en su trabajo. London ha escrito más de 70 libros para niños, con muchos de ellos centrados en la naturaleza.
La apreciación de London por la naturaleza puede rastrearse hasta su crianza como hijo de un miembro de la Armada, donde se mudaba cada dos o tres años. Esta exposición a diferentes entornos despertó su curiosidad e interés por el mundo natural.
