James Ponti es un autor consagrado de novelas para jóvenes adultos, de raíces italianas y estadounidenses. Nació en Pisa, Italia, y más tarde se mudó a Atlantic Beach, Florida, donde pasó sus años de formación. Ponti asistió a la Universidad del Sur de California para su educación superior. Además de su escritura, también ha alcanzado notoriedad en la televisión como escritor y productor.
Ponti ha ganado reconocimiento significativo por su trabajo en la trilogía Dead City, una serie de novelas para jóvenes adultos que han capturado la atención de los lectores.
