Jack Campbell es un reconocido autor estadounidense que escribe principalmente en el género de la ciencia ficción militar. Campbell es en realidad un seudónimo de John G. Hemry, quien también es un autor exitoso por su cuenta. Hemry es un ex oficial de la Armada Naval retirado y egresado de la Academia Naval de los EE. UU. en Annapolis. John G. Hemry, quien escribe como Jack Campbell, nació en abril de 1956. Comenzó su servicio naval a bordo de un buque de guerra de los EE.
