Arthur Conan Doyle, también conocido como Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle, fue un autor y médico escocés nacido en Edimburgo en mayo de 1859 y fallecido en julio de 1930. Se le considera ampliamente como uno de los mayores escritores de ficción criminal, particularmente famoso por su serie de Sherlock Holmes. Conan Doyle fue educado en una escuela jesuita romana católica en Hodder Place, Stonyhurst, y estudió medicina en la Universidad de Edimburgo de 1876 a 1881.
