Aliette de Bodard es una autora de ciencia ficción y fantasía nacida en los Estados Unidos, pero criada en Francia. A pesar de haber crecido en la hermosa ciudad de París, sus padres aseguraron de que hablara inglés desde una edad temprana, y sus libros están disponibles en el idioma inglés. De Bodard es conocida por su narrativa única que combina elementos de su herencia vietnamita con temas de ciencia ficción y fantasía.
De Bodard ha ganado numerosos premios por su trabajo, incluyendo tres Premios Nebula, un Premio Ignyte, un Premio Locus, un Premio British Fantasy y cuatro Premios British Science Fiction Association.
